Insbesondere von den New Yorker Straßengangs und der
Motorradkultur des 18. Jahrhunderts inspiriert, welche in Danny Lyons
ausdrucksstarkem Bildband „Bikeriders“ zu finden sind, entschied Phillip Lim
diese rebellische Atmosphere in seiner neusten Kollektion in modernerer Form
festzuhalten.
Tatsächlich zeichnet diese neue Kollektion das subtilere Bild eines Bikers ab. Der
Materialmix reicht von zarter Seide bis zu rockigem Leder und die androgynen
Schnitte einiger Teile werden durch mit Steinen besetze Schmuckstücke
abgerundet.
Inspired by New York streetgangs and the biker culture of
the 18. Century, which you can find in Danny Lyon's expressive illustrated book
„bikeriders“, Phillip Lim decided to capture this rebellious atmosphere in his
latest collection and spin it into something more modern. As a matter of fact
this new collection illustrates the image of a more subtle type of biker. The
material mix ranges from tender silk to classic leather and the androgyn
silhouettes are being completed with jeweled accessories.
